ReviewedZebras, wildebeest, and gazelles march across the Kenyan savanna while lions lazily nap through the heat of the day. 'Each informational text in the Country Profiles series presents an overview of the geography, cultural heritage, and colonial history of a country. These short, fourth-grade level readers, were published in 2021 and thus offer a culturally relevant text set for school and classroom libraries. Each text is organized using the same short chapter titles like “location,” “landscape and climate,” and “communities,” which would help educators facilitate independent and group research assignments or guided reading notes. The factual information of each chapter is enhanced through colorful photographs, tables, and figures, and texts are written in engaging and student-friendly language. This text set would offer students a credible and readable informational source for independent reading in the social studies subject areas.', Lisa Ortmann, Ph.D; Literacy Education Professor, Gustavus Adolphus College
