This series presents quick 2-page profiles of 11 careers per book, in eight categories of jobs “on the edge” and therefore attention-grabbing. Each career is given a 4-6 sentence description and a short list of requirements (such as problem-solving skills, an eye for detail, or degrees or licensure) with well-captioned and posed photographs related to the career. Creepy Careers includes: forensic pathologist; crime scene cleaner; cryonics technician; entomologist; exterminator; criminal psychologist; graveyard caretaker; mortician; paranormal investigator; police diver; and taxidermist. Entertainment Careers includes: choreographer; circus performer; historical reenactor; special effects makeup artist; professional wrestler; pyrotechnician; set designer; stunt performer; amusement park designer; visual effects artist; and voice actor. Each title includes glossary, index, and online resources accessible (and updated) through a publisher page. THOUGHTS: A brief introduction to careers readers may have wondered about, or may have never heard of. Suitable for upper elementary. This reviewer saw Creepy Careers and Entertainment Careers.
