'After reading a few of the books in this series, a few major things stood out to me. One of these things is that each book contains direct quotes from each of the women. I think this is so powerful for young readers because they are not just reading about the women, they are reading their words directly. I also liked how every book provided a brief profile on each woman. For students who may not know who these people are, this can be very beneficial for them to understand these women fully and possibly even connect with them. Anyone reading these books can tell that they are very current as many of them address how these women handled the COVID-19 pandemic in regards to their initiatives. This allows students to understand that the things they are reading about are relevant to them even if they don’t live close to the women in these books. I would recommend these books to any school or public library.
