Irving Independent School District
Sam is excited about the upcoming field trip to the Ancient Egypt exhibit at the museum but when he finds out that they have a substitute teacher Sam is afraid that the trip will be cancelled. Yet it turns out the substitute knows a lot about Egypt and before he knows it, Sam finds himself caught up in a mystery that seems to surround this teacher. Sam is swept up in a time shift, back to ancient Egypt and sadly the story ends too soon with little closure. Young readers may be disappointed in this, although the initial story is well done. This book had promise but sadly misses the mark.
