'The Superhero Science series brings superheroes’ powers to life through fictional and real life applications and future advancements in science. Each book begins with explanations of superheroes and other fictional characters and their use of their superhero skill. Chapters are included on how scientists use these powers in the world around us, such as weather control or invulnerability. Each title also includes intriguing explanations and pictures on how these powers are used in nature. For example, axolotls can use super healing to regrow their tails, limbs, and even parts of their brains. The science of each super skill is brought to life through historical, medical, and scientific advancements and achievements and by taking a closer look at the positive and negative effects of the power. In Shapeshifting, readers can discover that in 2021 Audi invented a car that might change from a self-driven car to a human-driven car. Weather Control explains the science behind cloud seeding, which is using planes to drop chemicals that can cause it to rain or snow. Super Healing explains how hospitals use the RECELL system to heal by using skin cells mixed with a special liquid to help them heal faster. Invulnerability reveals that graphene may be used in the future to stop speeding bullets. A glossary of bolded words is included to aid the reader in retaining key vocabulary. Bright pictures, captivating diagrams, and intriguing sidenotes will motivate the reader to learn and broaden their understanding of science in this series intended for grades 4 and up.', Alana Jara, District Librarian, Clear Lake Community School District
