Review
'Engaging color photographs and large print with short sentences make this series perfect for elementary horse lovers. Standard nonfiction features included are: Table of Contents, Index, Glossary, Timeline, and Maps. Additionally, there is a To Learn More section with book recommendations and a Factsurfer section with web links. Some of the web links require an email and some contain advertisements. The series explains when the breed of horse came to the United States and each title contains historical information along with a map showing from where the horse originated. Each horse's working ability and temperament is discussed. The size of the horse is compared to a 48” child in a diagram. The humans pictured in the book all appear white. Elementary students would enjoy this series and use it to learn more about horse breeds.', Sarah Idman, School Librarian, Harwich Elementary School
