'The Community Helpers series takes a common topic in the early grades and expands it to include many helpers that are often overlooked. This series includes 28 titles including: Bakers, Bus Drivers, Carpenters, Chefs, Construction Workers, Custodians, Dentists, Doctors, Electricians, Farmers, Firefighters, Flight Attendants, Garbage Collectors, Hairstylists, Judges, Librarians, Mail Carriers, Mechanics, Nurses, Pilots, Plumbers, Police Officers, Reporters, Servers, Teachers, Truck Drivers, Veterinarians, and Welders. By including this wide range of important careers, children are introduced to many careers that they may otherwise be unaware of. This series is a Blastoff Reader level 1 series, so these books are targeted at grades 1-3. They would be very useful in a kindergarten setting. Each book follows the pattern of introducing the helper, telling what they are, what they do, and what makes one successful at this career.
