Review
'Elementary origami fans both novice and expert will enjoy this 6 book series about paper airplanes. The books include standard nonfiction features like Table of Contents, Index, and Glossary. Additionally, the books have a Tips section, a To Learn More section with book recommendations, and a Factsurfer link, however, the links do not all work. Conveniently the airplanes require rectangular paper, 8.5” x 11” and not square origami paper. In the beginning of the first chapter, there is a brief history of paper airplanes and a helpful information section on origami folds, symbols, and supplies. Satisfying all levels of origami mastery, each title contains a variety of levels with easier planes at the beginning and the most challenging planes at the end. For each type of paper airplane (there are 8 different planes in each book), the directions are broken down into steps with a simple sentence and an illustration for each step. Readers must refer back to the helpful information at the beginning of the book to recall what some of the folds mean, for example, a pleat fold. This paper airplane series would be popular in an elementary school setting.', Sarah Idman, School Librarian, Harwich Elementary School
