'An EPIC 18 book series that covers a variety of individual dinosaurs that lived in the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceious periods. Just the word dinosaur will get most kids interested in reading these books, but the bright, full color illustrations on the cover and inside pages are a feast for the eyes! Each book follows a similar 5-part format that explains the world each dinosaur lived in, basic facts about the dinosaur, it’s diet and defenses, fossils and extinction, and final overview with a diagram. The realistic illustrations help to convey a sense of what the world and its animals looked like during that time. Especially helpful are the size chart comparisons, and the vocabulary words highlighted in pink that can be found in the Glossary. The text is written at an approximate 2nd – 3rd grade level.
