Bookworm for Kids Blog Review of Miranda Lambert
Fans of country music and especially Miranda Lambert gain an interesting glimpse into her background and are inspired to follow their own dreams. Kids ages 4 to 7 who adore Miranda Lambert (or those who want to get to know more about her) will find exactly what they’re looking for in these pages. The book starts out with a table of contents, which makes it easy to quickly find information even later on. The first two-page spread begins with energy and makes at exciting start to who Miranda is and the exciting moment she became well known. From there, the different stages of her life are explored, starting with her as a young girl and her family. The important moments of her career are highlighted, and at the end, a more personal view is taken as her other interest, such as barrel racing and her love for animals is hit upon. There’s is a timeline on the last pages to make the high points of her life clear, and all of this is followed with a glossary, index and website address where the reader can learn even more. Real life photos make every page bold and colorful. Miranda is presented in different settings, and with the photos, small bubbles with more interesting tidbits are thrown in. The text is very fitting to the age group and written in a way which grabs the reader and pulls them in…not dry in any way. It’s a great book for kids to learn more about a popular country singer and see how she went from a normal little girl to a star.
