It’s 2007, and 12,000 spectators have turned out to watch a pack of wiener dogs compete for the title of “Fastest Wiener in the West!” Being dachshunds, many of the race’s participants choose to visit and play with their neighbors rather than compete. It doesn’t matter though, because they’re racing for a good cause—to raise money for charity.

Subject matter addresses dachshund’s different sizes, coats, and colors, and includes photos and the obligatory information about their temperament and care. The book also includes information about the Wiener Nationals races with amazing action photos, and tie-ins with movie characters like Slinky in Toy Story and Itchy in All Dogs Go to Heaven. The book ends with information about “Wieners on Wheels,” such as Asher who was born with a deformed leg and now races with a custom-made wheel “chair.”
